この度island では、Part1（2010年9月3日-26日）とPart2（2010年12月3日-26日）に分かれ、若手作家12 人によるグループ展『Neo New Wave』を開催する運びとなりました。

テレビや新聞、雑誌等の従来メディアが権力を失ってきている今、情報または価値観は自らの手で検証し模索し、獲得していく時代になりました。

彼らの表現は、既存の価値観に委ねられない、またはそのシーンに迎合すること自体に興味がないとも言える程に実直で、且つ強かです。安直に物語に繋げることなく、納得するまで経験し続けるそのスタンスは必ずや私達の目的に応答し、何らかの展望を示唆する「実践者」となってくれるに違いありません。

本質を追求しようとする姿勢、または自分の欲求に素直であろうとする行為が新しい時代の価値観を構築していくのではないでしょうか。

Today, when existing media such as magazines are loosing their power,
we are in an age when we explore, seek for, and obtain the information
and the value with our own hands.

Their expression is so solid and strong that they don’t belong to the
existing value, or perhaps they are not even interested in being
involved in the existing scene. They don’t simply link themselves to a
certain story, but they keep on experiencing until they are satisfied.
Their attitude will surely respond to our aim, and they become
‘practitioners’ who imply some kind of idea.

Their attitude to explore the essentiality and action to obey their
desire might establish the value of the new age.
